October 2026 Grants Paid — SASSA Was Reviewing the November Payment Dates (Now Confirmed)

Update (14 October 2026): SASSA has since confirmed the revised November 2026 dates — Older Persons on 30 October, Disability on 2 November, Children's Grants on 3 November and the fourth payment day on 5 November 2026. Read the confirmed November 2026 dates. The sections below explain the earlier 'under review' position.

October's permanent grants — Older Persons (Friday 2 October), Disability (Monday 5 October) and Children's Grants (Tuesday 6 October) — have now been paid. Eligibility for all of them is unchanged.

Attention now turns to November. On 29 September 2026 SASSA said it is reviewing the November 2026 payment cycle because 4 November 2026 is the Local Government Elections public holiday. The dates in the approved 2026/27 schedule (Older Persons 3 November, Disability 4 November, Children's Grants 5 November, fourth payment day 6 November) are therefore not confirmed for November. SASSA will announce the revised arrangement once consultations with stakeholders are done.

What This Means for You

• Eligible beneficiaries will still be paid. A review of payment dates does not affect whether you qualify or how much you get.
• Do not treat the 3/4/5 November dates as final yet. They are marked 'projected' on our payment calendar until SASSA confirms the new arrangement.
• The SRD R370 date is separate. It is paid in batches in the last week of the month and is only announced after mid-month — check your own 'Pay Day' on the SRD portal.

If Your October Payment Has Not Arrived

Most payments reflect within a few business days of your pay day. If yours is still missing:

1. Check your status on the official SRD portal (srd.sassa.gov.za) — it should show 'Approved' or 'Paid' with a pay day.
2. Confirm your banking details are correct and in your own name.

How to Confirm Your Own Dates

• Older Persons, Disability and Children's grants are paid in the first week of the month.
• The SRD R370 grant is paid in batches in the last week — your personal 'Pay Day' is on the SRD portal.
• Always confirm the current schedule on our payment calendar before making arrangements.
