SASSA Status: 'Suspended' — What It Means & How to Reinstate
'Suspended' means your SASSA grant has been temporarily halted. Learn why grants get suspended and the exact steps to get yours reinstated.
What This Status Means
'Suspended' means your grant payments have been temporarily halted. A suspension is the step that comes before cancellation. It most commonly happens after you do not collect your grant for three consecutive months. Unlike a cancellation, a suspension may be reversible by contacting SASSA and confirming you want to continue receiving the grant. If the suspension is not resolved, it can lead to your grant being cancelled.
