SASSA Confirms October 2026 Payment Dates - Older Persons Paid 2 October

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the October 2026 payment dates for the permanent social grants. As always, Older Persons Grants are paid first, followed by Disability Grants and then Children's Grants.

October 2026 Confirmed Payment Dates

| Grant Type | Payment Date | |---|---| | Older Persons Grant | Friday, 2 October 2026 | | Disability Grant | Monday, 5 October 2026 | | Children's Grants | Tuesday, 6 October 2026 | | Grants Under Review | Date not yet confirmed | | SRD R370 Grant | Date not yet confirmed (announced later in October) |

Not Yet Confirmed: SRD and Fourth Payment Day

Two October 2026 dates are not yet officially confirmed:

• The SRD R370 payment date. The SRD is always paid in the last week of the month, but SASSA confirms the exact dates later in the month. Do not rely on third-party dates - only the official SRD portal is authoritative.
• The fourth payment day for beneficiaries whose grants are under review.

Check your status on the official SRD portal - your personal "Pay Day" date is more reliable than any general schedule.

The Broader 2026/27 Calendar

The October dates align with the DSD-approved 2026/27 payment schedule. Looking ahead, the November dates (Older Persons 3 November, Disability 4 November, Children's 5 November) and December dates (2, 3 and 4 December) follow the same pattern. See the 2026 payment calendar and the full October schedule for all grant dates.

What Approved Means for October

If your status shows "Approved" but you do not yet see a "Pay Day" date, this is normal early in the month. SRD statuses are refreshed around the middle of each month, and a payment date is added once the payment batch is confirmed. Read more about what Approved means.

Check Your Status

Always verify your grant status before heading out to collect. Use the SRD portal for SRD grants or visit your nearest SASSA office for permanent grants.
