SASSA Status: 'Bank Details Pending' — How to Fix It Fast

'Bank Details Pending' means your application is approved but SASSA cannot pay you. Learn how to update your banking details immediately.

'Bank Details Pending' indicates that your application has been approved in principle, but SASSA does not have valid banking information to deposit your grant. Your payment cannot be processed until you provide correct banking details. This is one of the most common reasons for payment delays. The good news is that fixing this is straightforward.

Why It Happens

  • You did not provide banking details during your application

  • The bank account details you provided are invalid or incorrect

  • Your bank account has been closed or frozen

  • The account name does not match your ID document

  • You recently changed banks and did not update your details
