SASSA Confirms September 2026 Payment Dates - Older Persons Paid 2 September

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the September 2026 payment dates for the permanent social grants. As with every month, Older Persons Grants are paid first, followed by Disability Grants and then Children's Grants.

Not Yet Confirmed: SRD and Fourth Payment Day

At the time of writing, SASSA has not yet officially confirmed two September 2026 dates:

• The SRD R370 payment date. Based on recent months it is expected to be paid in the last week of September, but do not rely on third-party dates. Only the official SRD portal is authoritative.
• The fourth payment day for beneficiaries whose grants are under review.

Both dates will be confirmed closer to the payment period. Check your status on the official SRD portal - your own "Pay Day" date on your status is more reliable than any general schedule.

What Approved Means for September

If your status shows "Approved" but you do not yet see a "Pay Day" date, this is normal early in the month. SRD statuses are refreshed around the middle of each month, and a payment date is added once the payment batch is confirmed.
